NID @ WebInnovation 2007

Prof. M.P. Ranjan and Rupesh, gave a real insight for the IT industry about using Technology for the growth of India.

Few quotes, which grabbed my attention

  • ... three screens (the buzz word in the WEB industry!! its the Mobile, PC and TV, on which the technology is growing and will grow!) are not adequate, and the IT should not revolve around this. Coz the three screens are based on only the vision...

He added... Human has other ways of sensing, like touching, sensing, smelling, hearing and speaking, why dint we thought about innovating technology for them. He concluded by giving a wonderful example... "Get me a tool to translate a foreigners language to Hindi -or any other language- and vice versa."
    I truly admire his thought

  • One another thought... In India 70% of the crops get spoiled and doesnt reach the home coz of varied reasons. One major reason is pests!!. Before the farmer identifies what the pest is and the medicine for it, the pest finishes its Sprint!!
  • ...show the way - through technology - for the villagers to use the technology, which is were the real growth of india lies...

I cant deny any of the above points raised by the professor. Gandhi said, Villages are the foundations of India.
